Portraits made of Wire Mesh by Seung Mo Park

There is nothing more compelling than realism that is created using an unexpected and unconventional medium.

Korean artist Seung Mo Park hand cuts layers of wire mesh, to create some of the most beautiful and realistic large-scale portraits I have seen. There is a depth to each of these pieces that cannot be replicated using any traditional methods.

Each one of these creations started with a beautiful photograph taken by Seung. He then uses a projection of the photo to become the road map for his artwork. To give you a full perspective of the amount of work that goes into these you have to realize that they are made of several different mesh layers each just centimeters apart. This is what adds the amazing 3d element and awe inspiring beauty.
