Some New Art found by our staff

The Conceptual Mixed Media Art of Jon Bibire

Jon was born in Saraiu, Romania and now lives in Fairfax, Virginia. He starts each work with some lines and glimpses of colors spontaneously. The idea is then guided by instincts and imagination. He uses a variety of conceptual mixed media. Such as, experimental photographs, pastels, acrylic, pencils, graphite, and some even stranger materials… Jon sites his inspirational sources as music and the surrounding environment as it is. I am guessing that [...]

The Amazing Photography of Martin Stranka

Martin Stranka is a self-taught professional photographer from the Czech Republic. Martin’s vision portrays itself through his images that exist in that narrow space of a few seconds between dreaming and awakening. Over the past few years Martin has won well over 30 international photography awards. After spending an entire day trapped within his digital photos, it’s easy to see why. Martin’s secret to photography? Supernatural models. Awesome.

Digital Illustrations by Natalie Shau

Natalie Shau is a talented mixed media artist and photographer of Russian and Kazakhstan descent based in Lithuania (Vilnius). She found interest in fashion and portrait photography as well as digital illustration and photo art. Despite her personal work, Natalie also creates artwork and photography for musicians, theater, fashion magazines, writers and advertisement. These are a few of my favorites.

Mercedes SLS by Gorden Wagener

Art my not be the first word that comes to mind when you think of the metal and wheels that get you from place to place, but in my opinion this is a beautiful exception. Gorden Wagener designed the Mercedes SLS based on the 1960′s Mercedes Gullwing. It is an incredible example of industrial design. Regretfully, with a starting price around 200k this car will not be my daily driver [...]

Loom - Awesome Digital Short

Loom tells the story of a successful catch. A moth being caught in a spiders web. Struggling for an escape, the moths panic movements only result in less chance of survival. What follows is the type of causality everyones expecting. The spider appears, claims its prey and feeds on it. The way nature works. But it’s the point of view that creates an intense relationship between the hunter and its [...]

"Larry" by Frits Hoendervanger

Frits Hoendervanger was born in the Netherlands in 1947. In 1960, he immigrated with his family to Canada, then to Michigan in 1964. Frits, being a self-taught artist, has received numerous awards for his paintings. “Larry” is my favorite of his work. This is oil and canvas and seems to perfectly capture the human spirit of the model.

Glass Jar with Rag by David Parker

Believe it or not this is actually oil on canvas. another beautiful example of realism in art by a tattoo artist named David Parker. Now, where should I get my first glass jar and rag tattoo at?

Tiger Balm by Erin Gergen Halls.

When I think of pencils I tend to get flashbacks of filling in blanks on elementary school tests. For Erin Gergen it’s a different story. She completed this amazing piece of realism in art using only colored pencils. Now, what’s with the tiger balm? …

Roadkill by Cara DeAngelis

Cara DeAngelis is a talented young artist from Connecticut. She was born and raised in the harsh and wooded terrain of undomesticated Connecticut. Brought up in such exotic and feral conditions fueled her natural inclination toward the work she makes concerning wildlife, death and domestication. All of these were done with Oil on Canvas.
